The Ancient and Masonic Order of The Scarlet Cord Provincial Grand Senatus of Surrey
A message from the Provincial Grand Summus for Surrey

Very Dear Companions All,

I have asked our Provincial Grand Recorder, Em Comp Chris Eley, to contact the President and Recorder of each Consistory in our Province to ensure that between them they make verbal contact with their respective members. I am pleased to report that as far as I am aware this duty is being carried out and that everyone is well and presently “Covid-19 free”. If anyone reading this has not been contacted, please contact me directly and update me on your situation. Likewise, should there be a change in your own or indeed any of our Companion’s health or circumstance that you become aware of, then please inform me or Chris Eley.

At the Grand Senatus meeting scheduled for next month which has unfortunately had to be abandoned due to the present pandemic crisis, the following Companions were to be invested by the Grand Summus; Active Trevor Currans reappointed President of the Executive Committee, Ian Smith Grand Lecturer, Promotions Bryan Page to Past Grand Vice Chancellor, Duncan Bell to Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies, 1st Appointments Chris Hatton Past Grand Sword Bearer and John French Past Grand Standard Bearer, and I am sure that you all would like to join me in congratulating them on their preferment. Despite the fact that they cannot receive their honour in person they will assume their new rank from the date of the Abandoned Grand Senatus Meeting of May 7th.

Although it is not possible to meet up in our normal way during the present circumstances it does not mean that we cannot be together in spirit and I am reminded of the words in the Address to the President that are so relevant at this time, “Never forget that Scarlet Thread that binds us to our Order and its members” I urge you all as members of our wonderful order to continue to demonstrate the caring nature that is a fundamental duty of each and every one of us, to look out for the welfare and wellbeing of those around us, whether members of our Order or not.

My wife Kath and I send our best wishes to you and your families. Stay Safe.
