Guildford Consistory No 53 T I

The Third Annual Meeting of the Province was held at Surbiton Masonic Hall on Thursday, 19th July 2012. R Dist Comp Michael Barnes, Provincial Grand Summus for Surrey presided over the meeting which was very much enjoyed by all those attending.

There was a full agenda, which included Dedication of the new Provincial Banner, the appointment and installation of Dist Comp Louis Keats as Deputy Provincial Grand Summus, and the formation of a Provincial Tzaddikim (Arch of Steel).

We were honoured and delighted by the presence of R Dist Comp Ian Stanley Currans, Assistant Grand Summus, as well as 20 other Guests from around the UK. A number of the guests had journeyed from as far away as Lancashire, Yorkshire and South Wales, together with guests from Essex, London, Kent, Hampshire and Middlesex.

The Banner dedication was carried out in a wonderful manner by R Dist Comp Michael Barnes, and one of the highlights was the Oration given by V Dist Comp Bryan Page. Special thanks were given to Comp Duncan Bell who had very generously presented the Banner to the Province and also to Bro Alan Trotter of Sussex who had designed the banner.

The Provincial Grand Summus was pleased to appoint Dist Comp Louis Keats PGStwd as Deputy Provincial Grand Summus, and to re-appoint Dist Comp Eric Trodd, PAGDC, as Assistant Provincial Grand Summus. He made special mention of V Dist Comp Laurie Young, the retiring Deputy, who had served the Province with distinction over the past two years.

A number of new companions who had become members since the last Annual Meeting were welcomed into the Order by the Provincial Grand Summus.

The Provincial Officers for the year 2012 - 2013 were then appointed and invested and a full list appears elsewhere on this website.

The Provincial Grand Senatus Meeting was followed by the Installation Meeting of Surrey Consistory No 4 T.I. during which Dist Comp Arnold Long was installed as President of the Consistory for the ensuing year. The outgoing President, Dist Comp John Rice conducted the ceremony in an excellent manner and with great dignity.

A total of 68 Members, Guests and Visitors attended the meeting, and 57 Companions later enjoyed an excellent and convivial lunch at the Festive Board.
